Laila Peak

Laila Peak, also known as Laila Peak East, is a stunning mountain located in the Hushe Valley of the Karakoram Range in Pakistan. It stands at an elevation of approximately 6,096 meters (20,000 feet) above sea level, making it one of the most recognizable and picturesque peaks in the region. Named after the famous Pakistani folk tale character, Laila, the peak boasts a distinctive triangular shape with a sharp summit, resembling a pointed pyramid. Its breathtaking beauty and relatively accessible routes have made it a popular destination for mountaineers and adventure enthusiasts. Laila Peak offers a range of climbing routes suited for both experienced climbers and those with moderate skills. The most commonly climbed route is from the Hushe Valley side, which provides a challenging but rewarding ascent with stunning views of the surrounding Karakoram peaks, including the nearby Gondogoro Peak. While Laila Peak is not as technically demanding as some of the other peaks in the Karakoram Range, climbers still face challenges such as altitude, variable weather conditions, and steep terrain. Proper acclimatization, climbing gear, and experienced guides are essential for a safe and successful ascent.
